Project Manager
Position Overview
The
position is a Senior Project Manager consulting and supporting
clients with their technology development and implementation
efforts. Employment status is a permanent (W2) hire with benefits.
This position will be responsible for supporting one or more client
projects. Clients are large mortgage banking clients. Projects are
software development projects and managing all aspects both on the
business and IT side of the projects. The position will involve
approximately 50% travel requirements. Travel will be required as
needed but telecommute opportunities are available during some
projects and project phases.
As a
Senior Project Manager, you will be working in a matrix environment
with multiple functional teams, and will be responsible for release
/ deployment management, communications, training, and process /
change management.
Responsibilities
* Provide project management leadership clearly defining plans,
communicating responsibilities, follow up and keeping the team
focused toward the deliverables and project goals. The PM will be
responsible for on-time and on-budget delivery of the project
deliverables.
* Provide project management expertise consulting the client on
their process and PM needs.
* Provide expert coordination and communication with other
functional teams:
o Senior Management
o Testing Teams
o Business Stakeholders
o IT Operations/Support
o Multiple Software Development Teams
* Implement project management best practices and recommended
communications process (including risk / issue reporting, project
status, release communications, training communications).
* Develop and execute software development life-cycle plans,
including analysis, design, development, testing, user acceptance
testing, sign-off criteria, deployment strategies and criteria,
stakeholder communications schedules and strategy.
* Develop training strategy and plans, including train-the-trainer,
on-job and formal training.
* Develop and maintain project tracking documentation.
* Perform after-action reviews as needed to ensure that
lessons-learned are institutionalized.
Requirements
* At least 5 years of project and personnel management experience in
corporate environment
* At least 3 years of complex software development Project
Management experience in a leadership capacity
* Bachelor's Degree or PMP Certification
* Demonstrated expertise in:
o PMBOK (especially Communications Management, Schedule Management,
Risk Management, and Issue Management)
o
Delivering and leading teams in planning and executing complex
software development projects
o
Multi-tasking and prioritizing and making smart trade-offs
o
Communicating and consulting with management at various levels to
achieve project goals
o Risk
management and issue resolution
o
Effective written and verbal communications
o
Effective facilitation skills
o
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio and
Microsoft Project
* Willingness to travel
Preferred Skills
* PMP certification
* Mortgage Banking, Financial Services experience
* Demonstrated expertise in deploying rules-based technology
platforms and applications using rules-based technology
*
IT technical expertise, although this role will rely on existing IT
personnel for these functions |
